I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Upward is more than a basketball league or cheerleading squad, it's about building community, learning skills and sharing hope found in Jesus Christ. For over ten years, Jarvis Memorial UMC has brought together families to enjoy sports in a safe environment. Over the last six years partnering with St. James UMC has allowed Upward to register over 400 kids playing and recruit over 100 coaches for each season. We see over 1,000 fans visit our gyms each game day on Saturdays. In addition we see God moving by changing lives, teaching values, building lifetime relationships and sharing truth.

What is upward?
At Jarvis Memorial UMC, our purpose is to use the power of sports to share the Gospel and promote the discovery of Jesus in our community. We strive for kids to have a safe environment to learn and participate in sports. We set high expectations for adults to act as adults; so kids can be kids.
